After Spring
19 July, 2011
The battle ceased, at least for now. After an entire year of exhausting campaign, Ikita was still far from a comprehensive victory. While most noblemen regarded Ikita highly for her generous aid in times of invasion, the city of Yanikita was not as prosperous as others might have speculated. Indeed, unlike most of her fellow cities, Yanikita was able to fend for herself. However she has been pushed from all sides by bandits and invaders since last winter. Unable to expand or trade due to such risks, Yanikita was forced to mainly rely on her own supplies, which would be able to keep her people from starving for the next five months. Ikita assessed the situation and pondered, should she really be straining Yanikita’s resource for the noblemen? Would they return the favour when the time comes? Only time would tell.

The GDP
13 June, 2010
Ok plz don’t get your hopes up now.. this GDP may take a decade or two to finish. But well as I’m toooo determined to finish it however long it takes, I think it’s never too late to start planning, from scratch again.
So the other day I was talking to Faraday about TGF. We can’t agree on more about how hilarious it was when all the enemies use the same variables assigned to them. For an example, if there’s a variable called HP in the monster, the value would be universal among all the enemies, meaning than if you kill any one of the enemies, all of them die at the same time.
“In TGF Farday and I made the Dirt ltd with a broken menu, and I made a 5 leveled 華彈幕 that I cannot even win myself.”
Seeing that this problem can never be solved in TGF, I tried Scirra’s Construct. It is like TGF but it is open source with dozens of plugins available, so comparing the two is like comparing Firefox against Netscape. It is working fine for me with appreciable progress, though it only exports to exe, and that the depth of my games currently stays at the black/white/orange 華彈幕 level.. so downloading a 7mb .exe just to play a few rounds is hardly attractive. But even if someday the game gets long and complicated, the restrictions of the TGF point and click mechanism would become more troubling.
“In Construct I made a half-finished tower defence and story-based 華彈幕. The TD got stuck coz the code is soooo chaotic… I now try to organize my code whenever possible.”
Then Faraday looked at my games and he sent me his 1st try on Flash cs4. The graphics quality of the game is quite limited coz of the frame rates, but the whole thing is very smooth and flexible. I see its potential for the GDP, coz it runs on your browser, without the need for further download. So now I can’t wait to try some programming in cs4 to see if i can transpose my version of 華彈幕 there. I hope it doesn’t bug that much as in Construct.
As for other minor stuff, I finally finished the pikachu for lf2 (because i’ve lost the data). I would need it back if i’m going to finish the charater for real @@ But it’s actually just the sprite that matters.
Also it seems like I’m doing great at hacking games using cheat engine.. not just flash games though, but the MMOs. I figured I can get a lot of exp in a short time without actually playing the game. But the pointers are very VERY complicated in these online MMOs.. maybe a level 1000 pointer omg, however I solved the problem by recoding some of the pointer lines and replaced others using garbage and it worked! Weird. It required less reverse engineering than i thought. So now I can manipulate HP, Ammo, Winning condition true/false. The next thing I should do is to find out the pointers/addresses of Speed, XYZ coordinate, FireRate, and that how to manipulate amount of Items.
And in C++ I’m at the stage of outputting txt file and writing dll. So it’s still far away from doing any graphical stuff.. eg: games. I realize I really can’t do much programming.. I figured I’m actually more a Modder than a Programmer..
